My Diet

I am currently on a diet, not any in-particular (i.e weight watchers, slimming world), and it is going VERY well! At first it was difficult not wanting to grab a chocolate bar when I was a bit bored but having disciplined myself I now no longer crave as much junk food! I have always been quite tall (5'8') so I have never looked huge. I was the happiest with my weight when I was in my final year of high school and was a UK size 10/12. At college I started to put weight on and went up to a 12/14, I wasn't unhappy with my weight but wasn't over the moon either.
At university in 2007 I was a 12/14 but living away from home I could eat (and drink!) what I wanted, I put on a noticeable (but not loads) of weight from the September to December, that Christmas I must of been one of the few people who ever loses weight over the xmas break! I went back to university in January a bit slimmer but still had a bit of extra weight.


Above is me at university a size 12/14, the top Im wearing is a size 10, I was happy with my figuire here (after the xmas break), the shorts here no longer fit me! I decided to not continue uni after April and found a job in a jewellers, I was a steady weight for a couple of years and stayed at a 14. Despite wanting to be a 10/12 I was happy with my size and was confident enough to wear what I wanted on nights out, I still managed to pull guys and wear the clothes I wanted so didn't diet. Below is me in April 2009 at a size 14, I felt comfortable with my body here despite breaking the legs/boobs rule I think I looked quite nice.


In May 2009 I moved to Greece, where I put on a bit of weight, only a few pounds but I could tell, at this point I was a bit worried about getting 'fat' so started going to aerobics with my cousin. I was still a size 14 in September 2009. I got a job in a bar in town where I was running around as a waitress and behind the bar, I was also going out a lot and the combination of running and dancing helped me lose the extra pounds. I also met my then boyfriend (now-ex) working there, let's call him X, me and X would go on nights out A LOT and without being too graphic we had a very healthy relationship ;) I noticed I had lost a bit of weight first on my boobs because they had shrunk a bit!


Above is a picture of me on a night out with 2 friends, at the time I was dating X and as you can see my boobs have definitly shrunk, the outfit I was wearing consisted of skinny jeans and a waistcoat, (both don't fit me now), whilst I was dating X I wore a lot of short dresses, low cut tops and even hotpants, I felt very confident about my body and loved the attention I was given. I stayed at a 14 (sometimes 12) when I was dating X and was happy.
When X and I split for good in June 2010 I started to put on weight through comfort eating, although now I can see the relationship was definitly a bad idea at the time I was very upset and would treat myself to fast food and high calorie treats. I also worked in the shopping centre at the time and would buy sanwiches, wraps and pasties for my lunch. I quickly went from a slim 14 to a 14 bordering 16. By August 2010 I was a large 14 and not happy with my figuire, I went on holiday to Greece and hated how I looked but with the weather being very hot I couldn't hide under baggy clothes.


Above is me in August 2010 in Malia, Greece. I had just won on the 'gladiators' game. I HATE this picture but look at it to remind myself I don't want to look like this when I go away again this August (to the same place!) I was only just a 14 here (nearly 16). Despite having a great holiday I HATED my body. When I got home I saw the pictures and felt awful - more comfort eating!
By November 2010 when i started my job in ASDA I was a small size 16, I didn't feel huge (the uniform is quite flattering despite the bright green colour!) because I made a lot of friends at asda I felt happy but after work I would often buy my tea and ate A LOT of pizza, my size was still a 16 but my work pants felt a bit tighter!

After losing my job in January I decided that instead of sitting around doing nothing I would get fit and lose weight, so I joined the gym at the end of January 2011 and started my diet. My diet consists of cutting out all junk food, and cutting down on thinks such as pizza, crisps and chocolate. I also started going to zumba classes once sometimes twice a week which is like latin/hip hop dancing and burns between 500-900 calories an hour.

My Diet So Far

Im going to update at the bottom of my blog every week with how my diet is going, I won't reveal my weight but I will let you know how much I have lost! My aim is to lose at least 2 stone by August - this should mean I'll be a size 12, my ideal goal would be to be a size 10 and have a super toned stomach, but Im just aiming for a 12 at the moment!

So far I have lost - 7lbs!
